Biography
Sun born Dane Adams was born and raised in Houston, TX, but attended school for a brief stay in Linden, New Jersey and several cities in New York. This versatile background provided the blueprint for his new well rounded sound.
Sun began his musical career under the guidance of the legendary Houston group the S.U.C, better known as the Screwed Up Click. He began working directly with DJ Screw and his staff at the famous Screw Shop in south Houston. He dominated the underground rap scene in Houston via freestyle battles. Armed with the experience and grind he learned from the Houston rap scene, Sun began his journey into music.
Sun began to take advantage of his family ties in rap by linking himself to 40 Glocc. By this time 40 Glocc was taking the West Coast scene by storm, touring and working with the likes of Jay Z, Snoop Dogg, Dogg Pound, Nate Dogg, and many other greats. 40 Glocc took Sun under his wing and taught him the intricacies of the rap game. Sun’s first major break was his appearance on 40 Glocc’s Outspoken Vol. 2. His outstanding performance on the track earned him the respect of the industry.
Now that his foot was in the door, Sun began to collaborate with a variety of established artists ranging from: Kurupt, Lil Flip, Ras Kass, and Kokaine to name a few. After appearing on numerous albums, countless mixtapes, and an array of videos Sun had finally established himself in the rap community. Sun attributes his success to his southern appeal and lyrical content.
Destined to be the best it was only right that he collided with the best rap group in the modern era; Infamous G-Unit. Sun was introduced by 40 Glocc to the legendary Mobb Deep and G-Unit. These new alliances helped Sun advance his career more than ever before. With these associations, led by Zoo Life, his resume has grown quite impressive. To date, Sun is working with countless multi-platinum artists and producers. Now with an extensive arsenal backing him Sun is ready to conquer the rap scene.
Sun has aspirations to be a major factor in the music game and change the stereotype of a southern rapper. “Don’t nothing come to a sleeper but a dream…” With that in mind Sun exploits every opportunity to achieve success.
Look out for Sun’s “The Grave Yard: Casket Music” and “Sun-Daze” coming out 2008!
